Kinetic sculpture is the representation of eternal motion and everlasting returns. It is a myth of cyclical nature of time. Unlike clockwork, which reminds of the fleeting nature of time and mor-tality, kinetic sculpture stimulates an inner sense of eternity. Its circular movement induces a meditative and philosophical state. The recession of elements back and forth into space creates a unique spectacle.
A mechanism is almost always a metaphor for the living. It creates an algorithm, a certain rule of action, an idea or a form of a living thing. My mechanical animals and birds are metaphorical, mythological, allegorical beings as well as open machines that are more or less understandable in their structure and technicalities.
If there is a supply of eternity and the universe is a mechanism, then there are no secrets apart from the technical ones. Kinetic sculpture is a point of view through which the world is open and clear, and therefore accessible to the human mind.
